Parent AERIES.net - Look at your student's progress at any time
It is vital that your information is current in Aeries. This is where teachers and the school can find email addresses or phone numbers to contact you if there is an emergency or a concern. Like many teachers, I use email to communicate with parents/guardians and with the potential of distance learning with the COVID-19 pandemic and power outage days, the accuracy of information is essential. I promise, I will never email or call you trying to sell you something : )
Parents can view student grades, attendance, and more from the comfort of your home! Using the AERIES.net portal you are looking at my gradebook so no waiting for progress reports to see how your student is progressing. I pride myself is maintaining my gradebook as assignments are due, but please allow me some time to grade and enter assignments.
If you previously used Aeries Parent ABI, that program no longer is available. A link to the AERIES.net portal is listed below. This new program will also allow you to update any changes for your student. Please be aware that if you use your student's login you will not be able to make changes. Only the parent login will allow you to make changes.

Next Generation Science Standards
In June of 2013 the Next Generation Science Standards were introduced. These standards are designed to improve student achievement and science instruction in the United States and to tie skills to other common core disciplines. California adopted these standards in September of 2013.
What does this mean for your child? A focus on process and ability to solve a problem using their knowledge and skills from multiple disciplines will replace the mere memorization of facts that we saw with the previous standards. Eight common Practices and seven Crosscutting Concepts unite all science classes while learning the course specific content. Your child will experience a more cohesive progression through the science classes with a common focus on science and engineering. As a science teacher, I am excited for your child! The links below will assist you in learning about these standards that your student will be expected to achieve in their educational career.
